Band : LARKIN POE (Former Lovell Sisters)
Album : Spring

Larkin Poe (Former Lovell Sisters)
Larkin Poe is the extension of The Lovell Sisters, which received critical acclaim for their releases Time to Grow (2009) and When forever rolls around (2006). At that time they were 3 sisters who did success in the US. after winning the competition "A Prairie Home Companion" in front of 4.5 million radio listeners. Originally, the girls are trained in classical violin and piano, but when they heard bluegrass music, they chose to go in that musical direction with The Lovell Sisters. The bands talent was recognized early.
In 2006, Rebecca took part in America's largest Roots Festival, Merle Fest's mandolin contest and won. She is the youngest person and only woman to have won the competition, then fifteen years old. The band quickly released their _rst album, and started a rat race of concerts and festivals around the United States. Superlatives often hailed the band, which often were referred to as the heirs to the Dixie Chicks. The band were so busy doing live shows, that they had no time to record new material until 2009 when they the released the album "Time to Grow" which received great reviews in the USA and Europe. The band had matured a lot, and had also started to write own songs.
Half of “Time to Grow” consisted of original material, songs that won awards in the prestigious songwriter competitions John Lennon Song Writing Competition and the International Song Writing competition. Youngest sister Rebecca now had taken a more prominent role as a songwriter and lead singer. 2009 was a big year for the Lovell Sisters, they took the step up to the biggest festivals in the US.,
played in seven European countries, Oprah Winfrey, MSN and Vogue called them "The next big thing", and Elvis Costello was so impressed that he called them and asked if they would play support for him and play as a part of his band on those concerts. Time to Grow recieved many weeks on the US. radio charts, with No. 18 being the highest position. In Europe the album was top-10 in 3 months at The European
Americana chart.
When the oldest sister Jessica after the "Time to Grow" album, decided to marry, attend school and take a break from music, it was natural for youngest sister Rebecca, now 18, to step into the leadrole and and create "Larkin Poe” together with her sister Megan.
The band is _irting with pop and soul music more than ever, but the roots/bluegrass music is still evident. Larkin Poes concert debut was as a support act for The Indigo Girls, and 4 x Grammy Winner Brandi Carlie, before they went on a cruise playing side by side of Emmilou Harris. Their first review is promising: "Normally, When openers come out, They play the" drinking songs ". The standing room only shows, there is usually space to breathe around the stage until the main event comes on. At the Brandi Carlile show at the Culture Room Ft. Lauderdale February 20th, I was shocked and amazed. The opening band wasn't rags or a glori_ed soundcheck. They were good - Better Than Good "

Andy Duke - Lead Vocals & Bass
Dom Beckford - Guitar & Vocals
Craig Welsh - Drums & Vocals
The three Bucksters met accidentally in January 2005 at the unlikely setting of a suburban Buddhist Disco in North London.
Being the only three men in attendance with hair on top of their heads, Andy, Dom and Craig found themselves backed into a corner after the disco turned into a sedate chant-fest.
The three lads quickly discovered that they had more than just follicular abundance in common and joined forces at an East London rehearsal studio a week later.
Despite none of the band being called Buck or any of them being Brothers, the band claim to have named themselves after an adult film company that Dom once worked for.
Within two months of forming, the boys recorded 'The World According to Buck' EP (October 2005) which was playlisted on over 400+ college radio stations throughout the United States and Canada with heavy rotation and chart placements aplenty.
After tours in Europe and North America, the band recorded their debut album "Me". To commemorate the release date of the first single from the album "Girls, Skirts, Boots, Bikes" in the UK, Buck Brothers successfully achieved a world record entry for 'highest number of gigs performed in 12 hours' in their native London with 28 shows undertaken on 5th March 2007.
Off the back of this achievement, the band were invited to support Primal Scream in Moscow at the Krasnaya Presnya Park Festival in July 2007. The band returned home to the news that MTV were going to license their debut album for their show 'My Super Sweet 16'.
In October 2007, Buck Brothers' debut album entered the CMJ Top 200 national chart in the USA; rare for an indie release, let alone a first release. The band also reached number 7 in the national US commercial radio specialty chart in March 2008.
At the beginning of March 2008, Buck Brothers undertook a month long tour of the US which took the group from LA to NYC via SXSW in Texas where the band had the honour of playing the infamous Viper Room Swinghouse Studios Party.
In August 2008, Buck Brothers were asked by US pop punk giants Goldfinger to support them on their national UK tour.
They have also supported The Futureheads and Babyshambles to name but a few.
Later in 2008, Buck Brothers became the first band since The Police (in 1978) to perform at the House of Lords in London.
Uber DJ legend Rodney Bingenheimer (from KROQ in LA) spun "Girls, Skirts, Boots, Bikes" on his show for 7 months in a row. The track became the most requested song on the 'Rodney on the Roq' show in 2008.
In July 2009, Buck Brothers were featured in Big Cheese Magazine's prestigious "Blast" section.

Band : LARKIN POE (Former Lovell Sisters)
Album : Summer
VÖ : 11.02.2011
Label/Vertrieb : Edvins Records / SdS - Alive
Bandwebsite : www.larkinpoe.com
Summer is the second mini-album out in a series of 4 from Larkin Poe, each named after their own season. The two Lovell Sisters Megan and Rebecca continue where they left off on Spring, and continue their journey
with more great songs, this time all with a touch of summer. This minialbum contains 6 studio tracks recorded in
US, and 3 tracks recorded live in front of a live studio audience on a hot summer day by the seashore in the small
town Giske in Norway. Amongst the tracks a cover of Massive Attacks “Teardrop”. In June came Larkin Poe's first mini album Spring to very good reviews. Now Summer is next in the sequel. Early in 2009, the sisters Rebecca and Megan challenged each other to write a new song every day to grow as musicians.
At the time they were part of the critically acclaimed trio Lovell Sisters. The band that garnered critical acclaim for the releases Time to Grow (2009) and When Forever Rolls Around (2006). When the oldest Lovell
Sister Jessica left The Lovell Sisters, Larkin Poe was formed. The debut Spring received good reviews and radio
play in the U.S., Norway, Germany, Sweden, England and Netherlands. In June 2010 Larkin Poe was on a Norwegian summer tour and used a couple of days to fiddle around in the norwegian studio Ocean Sound, situated by the shore in a small norwegian town. They decided to play a concert here and record it, and 3 of the tracks is now released on Summer. The studio recording room was packed with 100 people and the aircondition failed to cool the room causing the temprature to rise to steaming hot, but the audience was thrilled by the performance, and Larkin Poe’s strenght as a solid live band is captured on these tracks.
As 2010 ends Larkin Poe can conclude to have recorded 6 albums. 4 on their own, representing the four seasons,
which Summer is second in line. Then the girls recorded an EP with the teenage favorites and multi million
selling “A Rocket to the Moon”, and has also recorded an album with norwegian Grammy winner Thom Hell, an
album which will be out fall 2011.
Acclaimed music newspaper No Depression gave the first album "Spring" brilliant review, and continues with
Summer: This second installment in the ambitious "seasonal" series is Another Remarkable effort. The songs are
strong, the playing first rate. I believe it's going to be a wonderful year Wherever They take us.
“Close-harmonising sisters, mandolins, lapsteels and, when the songwriting hits the spot, country-pop which –
were it given that "polished" production that kills most music of this kind – would sell squillions in those parts of
America tourists rarely tread.” - The Independent
“With the Dixie Chicks on sabbatical, this could be Larkin Poe's season in the sun.” - The Observer
“With the Dixie Chicks currently taking a break and the Court Yard Hounds lacking bite without Natalie Maines,
Larkin Poe look set to enter from stage left and steal the crown.” - Get Ready To Rock
“While featuring mandolin and dobro, this is not Bluegrass. Electric guitar, bass and drums don't make it Rock 'n
Roll either. Un-pop like melodies and arrangements don't make it Jazz. iTunes calls it Folk, but that isn't it either.
Take a bit of all of this and stir it up. In lesser hands it might be chaos. Larkin Poe turn it into a very smooth, well crafted piece of work. It's unique. It's about the songs, and the pleasure of making something beautiful for ist own sake.” - No Depression
“I don't normally do star ratings, but this one gets an easy 11.” - Alan Wilkinson, Northern Sky
“My ears liked this album. My brain liked this album. If I were a younger man then my underpants would have
liked this album. That’s three out of three so the future bodes well for Larkin Poe and you can quote me on that!”

Band : WAINES
Album : STO
VÖ : 13.05.2011
Label/Vertrieb : WNS / sds - alive
Bandwebsite : http://www.myspace.com/3waines
Jon Spencer trifft Black Keys!
Die Tracks wurden in Eigenregie auf Sizilien aufgenommen und von dem jungen New Yorker Produzenten Mario J McNulty gemischt, der bereits Credits bei David Bowie, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Nine Inch Nails und Philip Glass vorweisen kann und mit Angelique Kidjo einen Grammy gewann.
Gemastert wurde das Album von JJ Golden (u.a.Calexico, Sonic Yout, Primus) in Kalifornien.
